Islam’s Attitude Towards Violence Against Innocents

The Introduction.

It is important to note Islam’s views when violence is disguised as religion, particularly in relation to life. Despite faith, ethnicity, or social standing, Islam’s teachings severely restrict the harming of innocents. There is strong emphasis on justice, mercy, and human life in the Quran and the sayings of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Life And Death In The Sacred Texts.

The Holy Quran prescribes the life of man as sacred as it constitutes one of the important underlying aspects of Islamic law. Killing someone without his permission is equivalent to hurting each and everybody. “Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - It is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one- It is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” -Baqrats 5;32

Per Quran, there is equal weightage given to immorality and virtue of life conservation, as well as to reckless disregard for life.

One can ponder over the hypothesis of Just Punishment versus an Innocent Killing or Murder.

By nurturing and bending towards Islam permits the taking of life only in the case of legal and legit context such as murdering someone or commuting treason.

A legal punishment granted one can access the teeth of “Innocent Killing”. In all terms the given context is set in a court trusted by all requires evidence that are extreme.

In all these case remember the vigilantism or revenge killings or worse, if one had to call it terrorism becomes something that is dreaded in major ways on every aspect.

“Do not kill the soul, which Allah has made sacred except"

From the instructions of the Prophet ﷺ to Muslims during battles:

"Do not cut down a tree. Do not kill a woman, a child, an infant, an elderly man, or a sick person.

Do not kill a monk in his monastery. Do1 not destroy buildings. Do not steal from the spoils of war (do not be dishonest). Do not betray.
Act with righteousness and do good—indeed, Allah Almighty loves those who do good."

From an Islamic point of view, the killing of innocents is not a religious practice; it is completely against Islamic law. Such actions are not in line with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The individuals who commit terrorist acts are committing a crime, which not only violates Islamic law but also goes against the very principles of humanity. They should be held accountable and face the consequences for their actions.
